3 6 Matters one should know about Expertise seminar SURFfederatie and Identity Management. Scenario Identity Management is one of the knowledge domains of SURFnet. The goal of the knowledge domain Identity Management is to contribute to a higher maturity level of (internal) identity management at the connected institutions. What is it? Whom is it for? How does it work? An Expertise seminar on the SURFfederatie and Identity Management in general. Institutions connected to the SURFfederatie and employees working with SURFfederatie in specific. Topics in this seminar: - update on SURFfederatie - OpenID - Self service in the SURFfederatie - Google Apps through the SURFfederatie What can one do with it? Visitors returned home with more information and new ideas on the abovementioned topics. They also stressed that SURFnet should work hard on making more services available via the SURFfederatie. 5 Hoe belangrijk is SURFfederatie voor uw instelling? 1. SURFfederatie is een onmisbare service 2. SURFfederatie is een leuke extra service 3. SURFfederatie is een eenvoudige oplossing om veilig toegang te krijgen tot allerlei diensten 4. SURFfederatie is niet van groot belang voor onze instelling 5. Anders 2

6 Hoe ziet u de toekomst van SURFfederatie? 1. SURFfederatie moet klein blijven, met een beperkt aantal service providers die een directe relatie met het hoger onderwijs en onderzoek hebben 2. SURFfederatie moet zo groot mogelijk worden, met zoveel mogelijk diensten van service providers die op welke manier dan ook toegevoegde waarde kunnen hebben voor het hoger onderwijs en onderzoek 3 SURFnet. Beter inzicht in & controle over welke diensten federatief toegankelijk zijn voor mijn eindgebruikers 3. Meer aandacht voor privacyaspecten rondom uitwisseling attributen gebruikers 4. Betere ondersteuning bieden bij koppelen eigen diensten 7
